How do I know what size to order?
Most of our wigs are available in an “average” size cap, but have adjustable straps inside to tighten or loosen the wig.
Some wigs come in a petite or large size cap and will say so in the description next to the wig in our catalog. If there is no mention of the wig’s size it is assumed the cap is of “average” size.
If there is a wig that you like and need it in a larger or smaller size, please contact us. We can resize most of our wigs to fit any size head. We will need to send you a measurement card for accurate sizing.
What is the difference between synthetic hair and human hair?
Synthetic: easy to maintain (wash-and-wear), less expensive than human hair, easy to style, prestyled
Human hair: more versatility, longer durability, custom styling and coloring available
Is human hair better than synthetic?
Not necessarily…choosing between a human hair wig and a synthetic wig is more of personal preference. For example, a person looking for a wig that is easy to maintain and less expensive would choose a synthetic wig…a person looking for a wig they plan on wearing everyday and that they can curl themselves would choose a human hair wig.
Keep in mind that just because human hair wigs cost more it does not mean they are the “better” wig to buy. Many times a high quality synthetic wig looks more realistic than a low quality human hair wig.
Can I have a wig made from my own hair?
Yes. We make custom made wigs using our client’s own hair, however, many times additional hair must be integrated to add thickness (normally it takes several heads of hair to make one wig). For more information on custom wigs, please contact our Custom Department.
How do I keep the wig on my head?
Our wigs have adjustable straps on the inside that may be tightened to hold the wig securely to your head. You may also purchase “snappy combs” (available through our catalog under “accessories”) that may be sewn into the inside of the wig for additional security. These combs clip to your hair…they attach to very thin/fine hair and even short hair!
If you do not have hair, you can request to have “tape tabs” put into the wig for an additional cost. If you are using tape tabs you must purchase the transparent tape or adhesive (available through our catalog under “accessories”).
Why are some wigs more expensive than others?
Like most items you purchase, price is a reflection of quality. The higher the quality…the higher the price. There are many different types of materials than can be used to make wigs, including various types of synthetic fibers and human hair. For example, some synthetic fiber is softer and silkier than other types, therefore, making the wig more expensive. Some materials used inside the wigs are lighter weight and more durable, therefore, increasing costs.
How do I fit or put on my wig?
Secure your own hair by pinning or using a wig cap. Hold wig by the back (where the tags are) and shake. Loosen the Velcro straps or hooks in the back of the wig. Hold the wig by the sides and slip it over your head. Adjust until the wig looks like your own hairline at the front.
How do I style my wig?
Your wig can be styled by using a wire brush, a wire pick or your fingertips. Your wig was designed with a basic style, but the variations you can achieve through styling are limitless. To return your wig to its basic style, simply brush thoroughly, clean and allow to air dry.
Can I use my usual mousse with my new wig?
You can use regular mousse daily on synthetic and human hair wigs for extra body and a more natural look and feel.
How is the wig packaged?
Wigs usually arrive boxed, and turned inside out. Give the wig a really good shake to wake the whole fibre and style.
Do I need a wig cap?
This is a personal choice but will retain the hair for comfort. If you have no hair it can protect the wig from perspiration. We suggest that you try with and without a wig cap and decide which is best for you.

Do I want a wig that looks exactly like me or do I want to go to that style or color that I have always wanted?

However, there are those brave souls who want to go all out and change color and style. Wig needs to look somewhat like their usual style.

Cap
In life and in wigs, it’s what’s on the inside that really counts. A wig’s cap, while not visible, determines how the wig will feel against the head, as well as how the wig can be styled. Rajkaml wigsnhair offers different cap choices, so every woman can find a wig that meets her needs and feels as good as it looks.
Choosing the right wig fiber
Should I choose synthetic or a human hair wig?
When choosing a wig, consider first the length of time you will actually need a medical wig. Your hair will begin to grow back very soon after your treatment is completed. Some patients experience re-growth even before completing their chemotherapy. You will need a wig for a few months.. Synthetic Fiber In general, synthetic wigs may be the best choice if you have a limited budget, have little time or capacity to provide homecare and maintenance or if your hair loss is temporary condition. The major benefits are easy care, reasonable price, permanent color, easy styling and usually quick availability. On the negative side, some synthetic wigs tent to be stiffer and less flowing then human hair. Constant rubbing on the collar or a blouse or exposure to heat causes the fiber to fizz. The base can be itchy (although rare) and synthetic hair cannot be colored or highlighted. The synthetic fiber used in wigs today has improved significantly over the past 10 years.
Synthetic wigs come with fiber memory, built-in wave or curl pattern that holds its style unless the wig is abused (with excess heat or combing while the wig is wet.) A properly maintained synthetic wig will look and wear well for the time you will need it. Synthetic wigs are made with small, light wefts that look like natural hair and they are much easier to style than real hair. You will be spoiled by the ease! Some synthetic wigs are made with a monofilament (transparent) top that looks exactly like your scalp with individual hairs that appear to be growing out of the scalp. The 100% hand- tied wigs look very natural. Always follow the wig make’s instructions, and use only products made for synthetic hair. The biggest advantage to synthetic fiber is that it has memory, meaning when washed it goes back to the style it was created in. You cannot apply any heat and it cannot hold any color as it is not porous at all. Is not flammable but it will melt from heat. Special curling irons can be used to prevent melting. Steaming the synthetic fiber will remove the frizz, burns and will change the style and erase the memory of the fiber.
Human Hair
The major benefit of human hair is that the hair can be colored and permed. Also, you can use a curling iron or electric rollers to curl the hair. Heat is not a problem with human hair as it is with synthetic. The human hair also lasts longer than synthetic hair, although the caps of both types of hair last the same (about a year). The drawbacks are that they need the same kind and amount care as growth hair, and are generally more expensive.
Human hair wigs are more expensive than synthetic wigs and have to be shampooed, dried, styled and conditioned just like your natural hair. They may frizz on humid days and lose their style if they get wet. Human hair wigs may be permed and colored but be sure to have a qualified stylist perform these services, as wig hair is extremely porous and easily damaged by chemical services.
Remy human hair is considered a premium option. Hair follicles are kept running in the same direction when collecting and crafting the wig or hairpiece. With cuticles all running in the same direction, tangling is greatly reduced and hair looks and feels silkier. Beware imposters with suspiciously low-priced product – on Wigsnhair.com you’ll find both grade Remy hair and cuticle free hair.
It is extremely important to use care products specifically formulated for highly processed human hair. Also keep in mind that wearable hair does not benefit from naturally occurring oils from the scalp. It is important to hydrate and condition hair daily.
Human hair is by far the superior choice if quality is the only factor. Other than price, the main drawback to human hair is required maintenance — as with natural hair, it requires effort. For many, daily styling is actually preferable as it allows for more control over the appearance as well as a sense of normalcy that can come with the daily hair styling ritual. Keep in mind that human hair does not come out of the box ready to wear. You may choose to have it customized by a professional stylist to get exactly the look you like.
It does take a bit of extra effort… but is worth it!
